With the stroke of a pen, the secret was officially out: Choice Group International is the first subscriber to Polygon’s newest product, “Inventory Power,” which will be the world’s preeminent loose diamond “search engine” and e-Commerce solution. Still in development, Inventory Power threatens other model online inventory management systems such as RapNet due to the sheer number of Polygon’s membership, and the diversity of planned use.
“I’ve been waiting for this, and true to our word, we will continue to lead the industry as not only pioneers, but as professionals dedicated to excellence and progress in spite of tradition and economic trends,” announced Eric Vasili Ehrhardt, the charismatic CEO of Choice Group International. “Our financial and intellectual investments will be the key to our success, and should prove to be the example to our industry. If there was ever a time for a change of direction in our industry, the time is now. We can’t afford to wait any longer, can we?” asked Ehrhardt in front of a small but influential group gathered at the Polygon booth to witness the event.
Present to have Ehrhardt sign was Kim Pelletier, Polygon’s Vice President. “We are so happy to have Eric as our Charter Subscriber. He has been so patient and supportive, and has been our biggest fan all along. He is already lining up a whole list of clients for us, and all of them seem eager to follow his example!” she confided. “What we are going to do for ChoiceDiamond.com will be just part of the changes we have in store for our industry. Eric ‘s vision for Choice Group and his willingness to partner with Polygon is the best demonstration of what other jewelers and diamond dealers need to understand: success in the future will be the result of careful planning and selective association. Polygon will bring the technology to Choice that they demand, and they bring to the industry the model Polygon has been describing for years.”
Ehrhardt described his participation further. “The partnership between Polygon and Choice Group is the result of months of talks and email. For ChoiceDiamond.com I needed a loose diamond search engine that could effectively manage an actual inventory of over 100,000 diamonds, updated daily, with the ability to filter according to over fifteen parameters. Unfortunately at the time, there was nothing like it available anywhere. Not willing to scuttle my business plans or compromise the integrity of my position in the industry, I approached Polygon with the proposition to develop such an engine for mutual benefit. Interestingly, they had been secretly working on the same idea for some time, and my proposal merely propelled them into hyperdrive. This product and our partnership is the best example of what can be accomplished by those willing to meet the challenges in our industry without being fettered by the traditional mistrust and catharsis that is present in our highly competitive industry.”
Ehrhardt said that he expects the finished product to be at least six weeks away from full implementation, and that ChoiceDiamond.com will immediately be profitable from the use of the leading technology coming from Polygon. “Polygon is so much more than simply a network for jewelers,” he said. “I know that they are the single largest resource for jewelers who understand the potential of technology as a tool that has not only become necessary, but indispensable to the global consumer pool.”
Already partially unveiled, Polygon’s “JewelryNet” database boasts an ever-growing collection of finished jewelry from leading jewelry manufacturers, and has been responsible for many new memberships alone. Polygon’s “Inventory Power” should prove to be an important industry development, not merely another successful product.
