     The renowned family-owned jewelry chain of Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry announced that they have recently been appointed “Jeweler of Choice” by the Choice Group International, a family of leading companies originally from Florida.  Choice Group’s CEO is none other than Eric Vasili Ehrhardt, son of the founder of Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry, and was on hand to explain the significance of the appointment.
     “For many in the jewelry industry, this would appear to be the proverbial passing the torch from father to son of the family business, but it is much more than that.  Choice group is a group of leading companies that have earned a position in the industry that some might consider enviable, and we will immediately assume management and direction of Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry.  This business move makes it easier for my father to retire successfully, and for the transition to be seamless and without the traditional financial headaches.  More importantly, it allows Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry to be elevated to membership in Choice Group International and to benefit from the developments and direction we are paving for the future of the jewelry business,” said Eric Ehrhardt.  “The official appointment of Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry as ‘Jeweler of Choice’ assures that this, our flagship retail enterprise, will have a definitive role to maintain as Preferred Provider and Partner to our other companies, and be fully benefited by inclusion in our consumer-interactive technologies which have been developed to serve our global community.  The day is finally here where Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry is able to serve the world with the cherished and unparalleled reputation that has been earned over the years.”  Ehrhardt went on to list some of the first changes that would take place, all of which seem  to both obvious good moves as well as opportunities for Choice Group to leave their mark.  This becomes more evident, as Ehrhardt bears the title of Executive Director of Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry rather than “Owner” or “President.”
     When these observations were pointed out to him, and the question asked whether this meant Ehrhardt’s would lose the identity that the community has become accustomed to, he was quick to reply.  “Indeed not!  Rather the personality of Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry will be rapidly matriculated, and at great cost, I might add.  You’ll notice a whole new crew of professionals that I have added, and the first few name brands and designer lines that have begun to trickle in.  Within a few months, Ehrhardt’s will offer an online store with over 40,000 items at values up to 65% off regular retail!  A complete remodeling has to be completed before the holiday season, and we are still in the middle of converting our business functions to a completely automated technology.  These things are what Choice considers essential to a successful enterprise, and as a Partner with Choice Group, Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry will emerge not only with a facelift, but positioned in the forefront of the industry where we belong!”
     It was true that the showroom was in the midst of change, and the new and friendly faces we talked to we earnestly busy taking care of duties that were never fully explained to us, yet they never gave the impression that we were interrupting them.  We all were impressed at how Ehrhardt’s staff took the time to get to know each of the customers they served during our visit.  Apparently, his methods work, for most of the contacts we monitored resulted in sales.  Later in the afternoon, Ehrhardt summed it all up for us by saying “This is so much more than a transition.  This is so much more than even a rebuilding a better mousetrap.  It is the application of the finest business models and proven leadership that is second to none.  I plan to do here in six months what it has taken the industry sixty years to grasp, and they are still only barely implementing the concepts!   We will continue to be the influential leader that we naturally are, and offer our efforts as demonstrations of our commitments.  It is what our customers expect from us, and what sets Choice Group International apart from all others in the industry.”  He reaffirmed that “Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry will always be Ehrhardt’s Fine Jewelry” and that with the management from Choice (Ehrhardt himself is CEO of Choice), the business’s “future is more than bright, for some it will prove to be blinding!”
